1.0 out of 5 stars Very cheap and disappointing 22 Feb 2009
By Andy
I was so disappointed when I opened the box and put this on my kitchen unit. It looked so cheap and nasty - you can't see from the picture but the plastic stays that hold the whole thing together are really white and stand out in a way that spoils the look of the aluminium. But the whole thing is not made from good quality materials and the front piece of aluminium was slightly bent out of shape before I got it out of the box - which meant that it would not close properly.
All in all a large and cumbersome piece of equipment with a poor build quality.
But I was able to send it back and got a full refund - so customer service in my case was very good.

I got this as a gift as it was on my wish list. It looks fantastic and holds a decent amount of bread (two - admittedly fairly dense - 800 gram loaves plus a pack of crumpets is pretty good IMHO) but the base on mine was made from unseasoned timber and after six months it warped and had a big split in it, and the previous version of this review was in consequence pretty poor.

However. I called the seller and they sent me a replacement base plate within a week. They were very polite and prompt. So an extra two stars for that.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as it looks 28 Jan 2008
Had my eye on this for some time now and had totally forgot about it at Christmas this year. It was a complete surprise that my parents bought it for me, yay for wishlists!

It does the job and looks fantastic in my kitchen :D

4.0 out of 5 stars Funky Armadillo 17 Oct 2009
By Narigg
This really is not a breadbin it is a piece of art. There are probably a couple drawbacks to the armadillo, namely the white plastic fixings which are not too pretty and it does not hold as much as I would have liked, but saying that it is a really funky looking item and is a great conversation piece. So the choice is yours really boring old run of the mill breadbin or this one, I know which I would rather have.

By S. Kirk
Wow! I really liked the photos of this breadbin, but now that I've got it in my kitchen, it's even better! Brilliant for keeping bread fresh, and makes me smile every time I see it! Speedy delivery too.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really bad service 16 Feb 2009
Really really disappointed. I was looking forward to receiving the Armadillo bread bin. The service provided by Wherediduoubuythatfrom, has been terrible. It did not arrive on time. No response from my e-mail asking where it was. When it finally arrived it was in bits although the box was undamaged the Armadillo has completely sheared from the wooden base. Sent an e-mail....... again no response!

5.0 out of 5 stars armadillo bread bin 21 Mar 2011
i bought this bread bin 1 month ago and have been very pleased with it, it arived promptly and very well packed, everyone coments on it i was aware that the bin only holds one loaf of bread which is fine, you could buy a normal hum drum bread bin or this work of art and compromise on the capacity.
