If you're travelling the GUC you need these maps! Simple. I travelled by bicycle from Little Venice in London to Birmingham Gas Street Basin in July last year & will be doing so again in April. Everything you need to know is documented & is incredibly accurate. As it should be as it's a map & it's not like you can really get lost as you can only go one way. That said they display Sainsbury's & Tesco's along with other facilities including Sports Centres which are handy to shower in! & if you're planning to run, walk, cycle this route, then you will appreciate the accuracy as it can be a hard journey. Easy identifiable mile markers are on the map which is helpful if you're planning a daily trip distance & if you're planning to camp then when used in conjunction with google earth, a good idea can be gained of an appropriate place to do so. Pubs are listed on the map also however there is a lot more on route that aren't & the majority of pub's are of the gastro variety so be prepared to pay £12+ for a main dish. The maps themselves are simple to use & in their folded state is A5 size, bearing in mind that when folded about 5-10 miles will be displayed so with repetitive refolding & getting in & out of a map wallet they do tend to get tatty especially if it's damp. If you're thinking about travelling this journey then do it, a unique adventure between England largest cities & although never really far from somewhere, there will be times when it can feel like an eternity without seeing anyone or anything other than rolling countryside, cows & of course the canal.
