Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
Just once in a very long time a voice comes along that is so unique it is uncategorisable and such a voice is that of Aaron Neville, a soul artist who just seems to get better and better.

This very eclectic offering ranges from old school to cabaret classic, Chuck Berry to the Lord's Prayer, each track stamped with an individuality that makes it so special.

His rendering of "Betcha By Golly Wow" alone would make the CD worth the price, I've never heard its like.
He swoops through gospel standard, pop anthem, and everything in between. Each song sounds so clear, so fresh, like you have never heard it before.

I can not praise this CD highly enough; it is a gem of the first order and if not a classic already it is destined to be

Not the best album by AN. I've got most of his stuff, so this was a disappointment for me, with only 3 or 4 tracks hitting the spot, but hey, at that price, who cares

Excellent, eclectic mix of music from an inimitable voice. 6 Feb. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
Neville transcends genres in this eclectic mix of country (George Jones's "The Grand Tour"), pop ("I Owe You One," "Betcha By Golly Wow"), soul "Ain't No Way"), Dylan ("Don't Fall Apart on ME Tonight") and anthemic ballads ("Song of Bernadette"). It is on the latter, a haunting duet with Linda Ronstadt, that both singers reveal their mastery of lyric interpretation. Not a bummer on the album.

Duet Heaven 23 Oct. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I defy you to find a more beautiful duet than Aaron & Linda's Song Of Bernadette, this hauntingly beautiful ballad has been around for quite a while now, but it is only through these magnificent vocalists that it has become a musical masterpiece. I think it's about time a compilation CD of their duets was made available.

WHERE DOES THAT VOICE COME FROM? 1 May 2000

Grand. 19 July 2004
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a surprise for an ex-con. Aaron has all the marks of a bad boy (including the one on his forehead) but when he opens his mouth, a heavenly sound comes out. "Don't Take Away My Heaven" is easily the best song on the album. It is truly heartwarming to hear a former criminal croon out the song-prayer of "The Lord's Prayer". "The Bells" is very pretty, and so is "I Owe You One", and "My Brother, My Brother". Classic Aaron. Bottom Line: INSPIRING, UPLIFTING, BEAUTIFUL.

Too Sugary Sweet 29 Dec. 2010
By Lou D'Holzer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
O.K. it's alright to call me finicky when it comes to music, because I am. So my first thought upon hearing the first three songs on this CD were the dreaded over-produced feeling that I first experienced. Thankfully things started to go somewhat uphill from the fourth song onward giving us the chance to hear the splendid range and tone of his wonderful voice. From Soul, Zydeco, Jazz, Golden Oldies it's a mixed bag. The best track being a spine chilling duet with Linda Ronstadt. In addition his rendition of the beautiful song; "These Foolish Things" is the best I've ever heard.
