Who has played GTA Vice City, prob one of the best games ever made on PC, and NOT loved the 80s music? I know this is purely a moneyspinner from the game, but this box set is just plain excellent value for money, if you love 80s music(which I do, and I know that many others do too). Three reasons why...
1)You get a 7CD collection of 7 different styles of music from the 80s, and by and large they are all brilliant on their own.
2)You get the likes of Michael Jackson, Toto, Spandau Ballet, Human League, Tears for Fears, Foreigner, Bryan Adams, Twisted Sister, Roxy Music, Run DMC, INXS, Lionel Richie etc etc who would make ANY compilation album good. Put simply, these are PROPER ARTISTS, PROPER SONGS. Not only that, the artists all cater to different tastes, if you're somebody who likes a wide range of music(like yours truly)you will not be disappointed.
3)£25.99? For 7 good albums? If you like quality 80s music and lots of different styles, then £25.99 is a bargain.
Usually, I regard commercial spinoffs with contempt. However, for £25.99, you will not get a spinoff that is such good value for money. If you loved GTA Vice City, or you love 80s music, believe me this boxset, as a whole, is superb.
P.s. For more info and for my thoughts on the individual CDs- VRock(rock), Wave(new wave), Emotion(soft rock), Flash(pop), Wildstyle(hiphop/rap), Fever(R n B) and Espantoso(jazz/latino)- feel free to check out my reviews for each. I wanted to review this box set as a whole, not analyse each of the individual CDs as I have already done that!

This CD collection is truly amazing, lets not beat around the bush, go straight for the center, don't waffle, etc. :)
I've played Vice City on the playstation, and I didn't even know I liked 80's music, but in an instant I realised I've have to buy this CD collection. It's packed with the best 80's music, and all catergorised by CD (eg, the pop radio station, rap radio station each have their own CD).
That makes for 7 CD's each with around 14 original tracks - and a littering of rockstars productions (such as the radio adverts, at the end).
If that isn't enough the CD's have a interactive element meaning you can get some sweet desktops for your PC, screen savers and cheats (unfortunately, the cheats aren't as unique as they claim).
And then there's the value. I stil can't believe it's only 26 pounds. That could get you only two albums in the london area, and yet you've got 7 albums all presented in a taste fully designed box-set.

If you are in your late twenties or early thirties, you MUST buy this boxed set. It will take you back to the era of Miami vice and first time visits to discoteques. All that's missing is the batwing shirt and bootlace tie. And a splash of Kouros! It really is that nostalgic. This is a fantastic selection of timeless classics, and a few cringeworthy duds, but all are great fun, and will have you singing along like a loon. If you thought modern music was pap, and they did it better in our day....Here's the proof!!

I own the game and think it's brilliant, the soundtrack is amazing and I would give it 5 stars, but for one little nagging annoyance. The chat show radio stations aren't there. They are some of the funniest shows on radio I have ever heard, and would be great on CD, but they aren't there.
Buy it anyway though, it's great.

GTA: Vice City has undoubtedly the best soundtrack ever for a video game. Killer 80's hits by artists ranging from Michael Jackson, to Ozzy Osbourne, to Gary Numan and Human League! There is a CD for each of the radio stations so you effectively have 7 very good compilation albums!

Disc 1: V-Rock
Stand-out Songs: Too Young to Fall In Love (Motley Crue), I Wanna Rock (Twisted Sister) & Cum on Feel the Noize (Quiet Riot)
Disc 2: Wave 103
Stand-out Songs: Gold (Spandeau Ballet) & Kids in America (Kim Wilde)
Disc 3: Emotion 98.3
Stand-out Songs: I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight (Cutting Crew) & Broken Wings (Mister Mister)
Disc 4: Flash FM
Stand-out Songs: Billie Jean (Michael Jackson), Run To You (Bryan Adams), Smugglers Blues (Glenn Frey) & Hold the Line (Toto)
Disc 5: Wildstyle Pirate Radio
Stand-out Songs: Rockit (Herbie Hancock) & Looking for the Perfect Beat (Afrika Bambaataa & the Soul Sonic Force)
Disc 6: Fever 105
Stand-out Songs: Act Like you Know (Fat Larry's Band), Behind the Groove (Teena Marie) & And the Beat Goes On (The Whispers)
Disc 7: Radio Espandoso
Stand-out Songs: Mama Papa Tu (Mongo Santamaria) & Latin Flute

The loss of 1 star is due the two talkshow stations not being included VCPR & K-Chat. I think all fans of the game will agree with me that the soundtrack was not complete without the crazy talkshow hosts and guests!

I have never really liked 80s music, until i got this!
The second i played on GTA Vice City i fell in love with the music on it!
This seems to happen on all the Grand Theft Autos, no matter how aweful the music is i seem to like it! I even like the opera radio station on GTA 3/Liberty City Stories!
V Rock is my personal favorite in this set of CDs but there is a bunch of different 80s music to choose from so therse bound to be at least a couple of tunes you at least dont mind!
I just hope in the next set of Grand Theft Auto CDs they bring out there will be the talk station included in the set!
Overall this is probably the best collection of 80s music ever released, BUY NOW!!!!!!
