Product Description

Considering how massively popular the last two GTA games were Rockstar could've knocked out any old rubbish as their last GTA game this generation, but despite Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas not being a full sequel (it still uses essentially the same graphics engine as GTA III) it has more new features and ideas than the majority of official follow-ups. For a start San Andreas itself is not a city but a whole fictional county, containing the San Francisco-esque San Fierro, the Las Vegas style Las Venturra and the Los Angeles inspired Los Santos. You can drive anywhere else you like in the countryside, between making the game four to six times the size of Vice City. You can also now start up your own gang in the game, recruiting members and claiming territory--you can even build and operate your own casino once you get the necessary moolah. You can't just sit around and wait for the money to roll in, though--eat too much junk food and your character will grow fat and have to work out at a gym, as well as keep an eye on a new stamina meter. The list of other additions and refinements are almost endless; above and beyond the usual claims of an improved aiming system for weapons you can now swim, ride bicycles, get your hair cut, take part in random break-ins and robberies... pretty much anything you were ever told not to do as a kid (except the getting a haircut bit). --David Jenkins

5.0 out of 5 stars San Andreas is as good as it gets! 18 May 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is just superb. i could finish the review right there and hope that people would just go out and experience all the small things that make the game wonderful for themselves. when i first bought this game i knew i was in for a treat as rockstars GTA series hardly ever puts a foot wrong. the fact you can customise your character by buying different clothes, trying out different haircuts, eating and working out just shows a very small bit of the variety of this game.

There are many a missions for you to have a go at and the difficulty is just about right. i finished the game a little while ago and can still go back and play it for hours. one of the best improvements since vice city is the much bigger variety of bikes, cars, planes and boats. the car modifications are also great and different mod shops allow you to add different things yo your car.

It's been argued that the long country roads are pretty pointless and just boring, but it's the only kind of place where you can really test out the nos you just put in your beast of a car, or even see how far up the mountains your great dirt bike will take you.

so if you wanna find out how fun it is to drive sports cars, trucks, go karts, qaud bikes, superbikes, chopper bikes, dirtbikes, airplanes and boats i seriously reccomend this game.

buy this game, it'll bring out the 90s gangster in you that you never knew was there!

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Vice city is possibly my favourite game of all time and it's still my favourite gta for its time, but I would say as a all whole this is still the best gta for size, variety and replay value and although this was released in 2004, I still play this even though I have an xbox 360.

I bought this ps2 version on release, but its the xbox version I still play now. This really is in my opinion a masterpiece, everytime I play this game I still occasionally think wow because of the size and variety of this beautifully, absolutely beautifully designed fictional county, with three cities obviously Los Angeles(Los Santos), San Francisco(San Fierro) and Las Vegas(Las Venturas). All these cities look completely unique from each other, but you also get loads and loads of beautifully designed country and desert with little towns. Some game fans weren't happy with the country and desert because there isn't much to do, but to me it makes it feel realistic and haunting. Go in an isolated part of the desert at night and make a fire or go in the country and watch the sunrise, beautiful. Everytime I see a movie or tv series filmed in various parts of the US (obviously california the main one), I nearly always think of this particular game (I can't be the only one), that really says to me how well I think this gta world is designed.

It does annoy me when people say this is vice city in another city. This gave you so much more to do other than follow the main story, so much more. Gambling in various ways, mountain bike racing, skydiving and swimming. But it wasn't just the things to do that improved from vice city, but also the AI.
