Sicilian Defence: Grand Prix Attack is an interesting upgrade to an older version of the book and it shows. The lines in themselves are mostly good and playable, but very seldom do the authors suggest actual improvements to the games. This means that in practical situations, such as tournament play, the book leaves you a bit stranded with variations your opponent may play. Say on page 60 Hebden-callagher Borehamwood 1982 ends with "= +", which is not a nice surprise, as your opponent may play this line. So, some original analyses is needed and so the book can be seen as a good collection of games, but a bad quide to improvements. buy it as a surprice weapon, but remember to work hard with it, so that you don't get surpiced yourself!

good book poor quality 19 May 2013

This is a great work by one of the precursors of the variation, but the quality of the reprint is very low. It's like a photocopies bound together. Very dissapointed. Even the diagrams looks blurry. The worst is that isshy press is taken all the classics (i.e. Averbakh endgames books, Frank Marshall games collection, etc) and making poor quality reprints.
