The guide was very useful for our trip away giving details of coastal and central regions which gave a the basis for a good holiday, not just one sitting on a beach.

The book is useful for the maps but that is about all. We used information in the book to try to plan our holiday. We visited 2 locations (each taking roughly 1 hour to get to) that the book said were tourist hotspots, after walking around the desserted areas we eventually found a taxi driver who told us that neither of the attractions existed anymore and hadn't done so for at least 3 years (before the book was published). We visited another attraction which was priced at 5-8Euros which we had budgeted for but upon arrival it was over 5 times more expensive which meant that we had to make another plan. Bus routes and numbers are wrong - always ask at the bus stations before getting on the busses.

This is typical of the AA guides, what you get is a helpful potted version of the country you are visiting but it is nice and lightweight for taking around. If you want more detail then you buy one of the more comprehensive books and digest it well before you go.
