Much under-rated/unknown composer - I look forward to many happy hours with this set - revisiting old friends and making new accquaintances.
If you are partial to English music (and yes I know he was Australian but his music is quintessentially English) you really can't not get this.
A steal at the price and if you're still not sure pick up A Salute to Percy Grainger for 5-6 pounds first - you will be converted.

Well what I say since I bought this box set of 19cd,I have listening for 2 weeks,give it rest and began listening again,what marvellous melodies and sound so British and reminded you of the past so sweet and gone forever.Country garden in different version is a treat to listen.It is like eating a box of chocolate and enjoying the different flavour.This addictive music of past summer gone.The songs are atreat to the ears.This set has given me the incentive to buy British folk songs from other composers such as Britten.Highly recommended and a treat for the ears after a hard day work.I am confident that once you hear cd 1,you can wait to hear the next cd.When I go abroad for I will take this book and the last I will listen to the cd to lift my mood to come home.Go on take a plunge and you will not regret it.Happy listening and progress beyon English Country Garden.
