Anthony J. Bennett holds a bachelors degree in History from Nottingham, as well as masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Essex in United States government and politics. He taught History and Politics at the ROYAL HOSPITAL SCHOOL, Ipswich, for 15 years before moving to CHARTERHOUSE, Godalming, where he taught American Politics until 2009.
He first published his annual update on American Politics in 1982 and since 2003 this has been published by Philip Allan Updates (Hodder Education). The 2014 edition will be published in January.
His best-selling A-level textbook followed in 2004 and this reached its Fourth Edition in May 2013.
2013 saw the publication by Palgrave Macmillan of his two-volume work covering the U.S. presidential elections from 1980 to 2012: Volume 1 - The Race for the White House from Reagan to Clinton (February 2013), and Volume 2 - The Battle for the White House from Bush to Obama (October 2013).
