This is a nostalgic collectors' item for opera fans who remember these great singers fondly and appreciate the rarity of the video documentation (like me). In case you are not familiar with the opera or the cast, my recommendation for you is do not buy it: You might find the stage production stuffy and tired, the camera conventional, the picture quality and monophonic sound historic, and - worst of all! - intrusive Japanese subtitles which are imprinted and cannot be turned off.
For the fans, VAI provides a technical improvement compared to the VHS copies we have had of this broadcast.
