Cute but not too cute. A real drama. 19 May 2014

This is a great manga. I don't know yet how much of the series is available, hopefully till the end. The story is down to Earth and realistic. It is well within the Japanese manga style, while including some characters that Japanese authors would never create. This is a good thing and refreshing! The story is fresh, too. Determined girl overcomes sexist stereotypes and creates a place for herself and other girls (and boys).

The art is good but not great. A little rough around the edges. Perhaps this is intentional though it doesn't work for me. That's why I don't give it 5 stars.

There is romance as well. And complex girl relationships. At this stage we don't understand characters motivations very well, and they sure do surprise! Even if it is incomplete as I suspect, its worth reading. You might love it!
My 15-year-old soccer-loving daughter is addicted to these 3 Aug 2009

My daughter, who is 15 and loves all things soccer, begged me for this series of books. I gave in, and I'm very happy I did so! They're fun, clean, and sports-oriented for girls without making a big deal out of that fact. Highly recommended, along with the "Angel Cup" manga series.
