Anne Sudworth is an artist of exceptional talent, and her work is haunting, magestic, mysterious and amazing. To be able to stand in front of one of her canvases is a truly exceptional experience, but those opportunities are all too rare. This book is really the next best thing. It is exceptionally well produced and is a pleasure to simply hold, let alone browse through.
Many of Anne's well known work is represented in the book in very high definition, and it is possible to spend hours just looking at individual pieces (I know, because I've done so!). However, the addition is in her own descriptions of pieces, or her choice of poetry or prose to match various pieces, making the whole experience even richer. I know this sounds rather overblown hyperbole, and it's not something I'm keen on, but this is a book that is really out of the ordinary, and does lead one down such literary alleyways.
If you enjoy art - good art, and if you hanker after the mysterious displayed visually, or just like looking at paintings and losing yourself in them, I can thoroughly commend this book to you. It is a perfect piece to accompany the work of a very special artist.
