Product Description

A breakout success and a "New York Times" bestseller in hardcover, "Got Fight?" is the uproarious and out of control book from Forrest Griffin, one of the most outrageous personalities in the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC). The former light heavyweight champ of the UFC, Forrest is one of the UFC's biggest stars in mixed martials arts, the fastest-growing sport in the world. Now in "Got Fight?", the man who's been called 'the most popular fighter in the UFC' offers personal stories from inside and outside the Octagon to give readers a glimpse into the mind of a mixed martial artist and illustrate his 50 principles of being a fighter, with topics ranging from mentally preparing before a professional fight to kicking it into high gear when your ring is the street. Mixing his fighting tips with his own booming personality and his trademark sense of humour, Forrest creates his own unique, self-depricating version of self-help. In these pages, you will learn about true mental toughness - whether it's scraping it out in the Octagon or picking up chicks.

About the Author

Forrest Griffin is the light-heavyweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was catapulted to UFC stardom when he defeated Stephan Bonnar in one of the most famous mixed martial arts fights to date to become the winner of the first season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, which launched the UFC into the pop culture mainstream. Forrest was subsequently one of the two coaches on Season 7. Formerly a police officer, Forrest is a graduate of the University of Georgia and trains at The HardCore Gym in Athens, Georgia. Erich Krauss is a professional Muay Thai fighter and the author of more than twenty books, the vast majority of which focus on MMA competition. He is the co-author of The Prodigy B.J. Penn's Mixed Martial Arts: The Book of Knowledge, which has sold more than 40,000 copies in less than a year. He writes for all the major MMA magazines, including Grappling and Tapout. The founder and publisher of Victory Belt, Krauss is the leading voice in the MMA publishing market.

Dazed and confused. 29 Jun 2009
Format:Hardcover
I read this book and felt a little dazed and confused afterwards. Is this what it feels like to be inside Forrest Griffin's head?I get the feeling that reading this book may be just like having a conversation with Forrest himself, rambling,at times interesting, other times confusing but always funny. If you want to get the most out of this book read between the lines. But if you don't want to go that deep then just enjoy spending some hours in the company of a modest, unassuming and friendly guy who also happens to be one of the best mma fighters around.I should also warn you he is mad.Honestly the guy is on another planet. If Forrest wants to psyche out any of his future opponents I suggest he just gives them a copy of this book.

This book really wasnt what I expected, instead of being your bog standard autobiography, forrests main topic is how to be a man and examples of how manly he is. Im not lying when I say that at times I was literally crying with laughter.

Of course though many of his jokes are fight related so if you know nothing about mixed martial arts you may find that you have no clue what he is talking about.

On the whole I highly recommend this book even if you arent a fan of Forrests, or indeed MMA!

This book is short, but very funny in places. At the end, I must admit my thoughts were "Is that it?". Worth it if you can pick it up cheap.

Good read
Whether or not you find Forrest's "zen-ness" absolute nonsense or really good stuff, either way it's all funny stuff and well worth the read!

This really is a fantastic book and is should be read by all MMA fans. I was laughing the whole way through and I'm generally not a reader.

Idiotic
Griffin gives us a disjointed, thuggish, sexist, homophobic pile of crap. Whats more, he constantly refers to the poor quality of his book throughout it. Read more
