Review

'At the lighter end of the scale, those of you who've been waiting for a new BFF to fill the gaping OC/Dawson's/90210 hole in your lives could do far worse than sign up for an upper east side preppy education in Gossip Girl (March, ITV2). Based on Cecily von Ziegesar's string of novels. It's Cruel Intentions with a noughties Abercrombie sheen - and as it's adapted by Josh Schwartz (the Seth Cohenalike behind The OC), you'd be right to expect a string of zippy one-liners, powerhouse teen bitchiness and a general fascination with the lives of the urban rich' Guardian

Review

"A fun series about rich Manhattan prep school kids and the gossip Web site tracking their lives … will keep readers turning the pages." (Publishers Weekly)

"A great read for those who like romance and drama related in a sassy manner." (School Library Journal)

“A cultural phenomenon.” (The Independent)

After Gossip Girl one, I couldn't wait for it to come out. The ranges of peoples views is always great in my opinion. It captured me the same as the first book. I couldn't put it down! I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone, but it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. I love Blair and Serena, but find Jenny and her bro a little too annoying. But then as with life, there will always be people like that.
Overall I enjoyed the book and couldn't wait for the next one to come out!

Finally a second helping of the worlds of Blair, Nate, Serena and friends. This book has everything romance, friendship, dislike, bitching, cheating boyfriends and fashion!
This book made me laugh and cry! Cecily von Ziegesar is a fantastic writer who makes you feel like your living in the characters world. I cant wait until the next book comes out. (My life depends on it!)

After reading the first installment of gossip girl, the second was a natural progresion.
i am pleased to say that this book matchs and in some cases exceeds its predecesor.
The book returns to give us further insight into the glamerous and vindictive world of these teenage resistants of New Yorks exclusive upper east side.
Its time for their collage aplications as we follow the familiar characters of Blair, Nate, Serena, Dan and Jenny.
The gossip is as juicey as the first with the characters being caught up in various antics, which only these residents could emulate.
The author clearly manages to keep a belivable plot without it making it seem unreal.
Once you start reading its hard to put down.

ok so when i went to buy this book i was thinking of course i am going to love this it! It was exactly what i liked about a book. It had gossip, bitchiness and the most amazing window to the world of rich and young of the upper east side. So I sat to read this book and found that it was much more then i gave it credit for! In the book you saw that even if you did have money, you still had all the crap to deal with of a normal teenager .Prehaps even more so because of who the characters were! So i have to say that this book has become one of my favourtes and I can not wait for the next one in the seris. Carry on gossip girl because you know we love you!

In the second installment of the Gossip Girl series our favorite spoiled brats are back and at it again, and this time they are trying to get into college. As if the stress of college applications and interviews wasn't enough for Blair, she now also has to deal with the wedding of the year...her mother's (complete with cute but annoying step-brother and all) and the gnawing feeling something between her and Nate just isn't right. Poor Blair.
Serena on the other hand is just as happy go lucky as ever, however, her newfound relationship with Dan appears to be on the rocks already...ah well; there are more fish in the sea!
Lastly there seems to be a new girl catching Nate's eye and you will never guess who it is! You'll have to read to find out.

While I found the first Gossip Girl book to be mildly entertaining, `YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME' hooked me! I will definitely spend my summer trying to play catch up before the Gossip Girl series airs on the CW this fall! Fun read for teen's and adult's (who like a little scandal) alike!

In the book you get a real sense of Vanessa as a filmmaker, whereas in the tv series Vanessa just seems to be a spare part. In the book, you are told that Vanessa still has a crush on Dan even though she is dating Clark in the Five and Dime Bar. In the tv series, you are informed that Dan and Vanessa had a past, but you don't get a sense that she still has strong feelings for him except as a family friend. I want to know more about Dan's past relationship with Vanessa. Did he get over her when they split up? Is Serena filling the gap that he originally felt for Vanessa? What attracted him to her? What split them up?

Despite the fact that Serena is attractive on the outside, she is messy on the inside and this is what Dan finds overwhelming. Having children is messy, but relationships are also messy and you have to ask the question: is the relationship worth being subjected to this messiness?

A great follow-up from the inaugural book! It starts pretty much with the protagonists being in the same place from the previous book, only there's definite changes along the way, characters switch up, the interaction between each other too is all change by the final chapter with a lot left to be discovered I can't wait for book 3!
