I saw the first two series on tv and thoroughly enjoyed watching them. Unfortunatley I missed the third series so decided to see if the 3 series were available on the internet.
Realising there was another series due to start I waited even longer.
I read the reviews on Amazon to see if it was worth paying the best part of £50 for series 1-4.As I have started from the beginning, I have not yet caught up to the end of series 4 but, my friend who also watches the show has convinced me it was worth the money (probably cos she'll borrow them from me in the future :0).
Worth the money in my opinion. There are hours upon hours to watch so I will not be bored over the Christmas and New year when the in-laws come round.

New york magazine named Gossip Girl the "Best Show Ever" a few years back, but the question has to be asked; Is gossip girl still the best show ever? In my opinion, yes. The drama is at an all time high all in each season and granted there are a few episodes that slump into a ditch of repetitiveness and boring throw-away plots but the majority of Gossip Girl is a master presenting juicy story-lines and executing them in the darkest of fashion.

The show is about the lives of the Upper eastsiders. One of the main plots the series as a whole revolves around is the class-divide between those living in New York. This divide is one of the main things responsible for the story-lines told throughout the series, focusing on the personality clashes between those who live the life of luxury, never having to earn a dime in there tedious lives, and those who have to work for everything they earn.

One of the main things a show has to do to be great, is attach the audience to the characters and make them feel something for them or care for them in one way or another. GG doe's this in a fantastic way, introducing you to a wise range of personality's for you to either like or dislike.

And as a conclusion to my short review, I will conclude by saying that my review really doesn't do Gossip Girl justice! The show is addicting and never gets dull. You'll finish season 4 gagging for more from the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. That's a promise.
