Product Description

SERIES 1 - INDIA Like most of us, Gordon Ramsay likes a good curry, though he has little idea about the roots of his favourite dish. Join Gordon as he travels through the regions of India on a journey of discovery to reveal a new rich culinary world. Steering clear of posh restaurants and fancy dining, this is a trip to uncover the real cooking the country has to offer. Meet the people, experience the sights and see the real India as Gordon travels the country in search of the origins of authentic Indian cuisine. From working the kitchen on the Mangalore Express to cooking on the streets of Mumbai, this is Indian food and life at its most real. Along the way, Gordon will meet a host of food mentors who will teach him their own Indian dishes and recruit him into a number of exciting, challenging food related pursuits as he learns totally new cooking skills. This is Gordon Ramsay unlike you have ever seen him before, more thoughtful and open minded whilst retaining his passion in search of culinary perfection. Part cookery programme, part travelogue; follow Gordon on a voyage of self discovery and culinary & cultural delight. This is Gordon s Great Escape. SERIES 2 - SOUTH EAST ASIA For the second series, Gordon goes back on the road doing what he loves most: searching out the best food in the world and testing himself in extreme and demanding situations. This time he s not just taking on one country, his appetite for adventure will take him through four of South East Asia s most exciting culinary destinations: Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam. South East Asia is a region obsessed with food and its people are almost always found eating, cooking or discussing fresh food. Gordon loves Thai and Vietnamese food and he s heard great things about Cambodian and Malaysian cooking so he s eager to immerse himself in local culinary traditions. As he explores the different regions, Gordon will be inspired to cook and eat things he s never come across before. And there's plenty to be inspired by: no other corner of the world boasts such an enormous diversity of cuisine and culture. We ll see Gordon speeding through breath-taking gorges on wooden fishing boats, sleeping on the floor in Buddhist monasteries, struggling through the throng of the world s busiest markets and waterways, and revitalising his passion for simple, honest cookery and unforgettable flavours. These are adventures that will change the way Gordon, and viewers, think about Indian and South East Asian food forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars His hunger for more 3 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase
Cook Ramsay will split the viewers opinions. He is known to be direct and rude in expressing his opinion about his and others cooking.
His deep and burning passion speaks out of him. A love to create really good food does not let him tolerate compromises.
This set of two shows travels where he seeks to expand his culinary horizon to find where the gaps in his knowledge are that he has no illusion about.
He hungers to learn more, to experience food that he has no idea about and find new knowledge that will help him do his job better.
