    3.0 out of 5 stars A few problems 29 Nov 2010
The first Ramsey grill was sent back within the week as the locking mechanism for the removable plates failed. To get the plates back in, I had to wiggle a fork in to the catch to free them up. The replacement has lasted about 20 uses before the same thing happened. I guess it's a poor design for the plate-release mechanism.

Also, the 'faint light' criticism that I have read elsewhere is also valid - the lights are very faint and there is no good reason for them to be. It doesn't make or break the grill... it's just annoying.

In action, however, the grill is excellent to use - great to cook with and easy to clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says it'll do 2 Aug 2010
An excellent product that does just what it says it will do. At first we tried the Russell Hobbs which is MUCH more expensive, but the first was faulty, and the second was faulty AND dangerous, so we gave up and got this.
It heats quickly, cooks thoroughly, and is as controllable as you could wish. Most importantly for us, the plates are easily removed for cleaning, and the whole thing feels reasonably sturdy and well-put-together. We've been cooking like this for years, and this grill is as good as any we've ever had - highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing non stick 31 July 2010
    By fotofit
Takes a while to heat up but cooks really quickly. I have had two George Forman grills and prefer this one. As other reviewers have said grease does not drain off like the Forman grills but the 'floating' hinge on this grill seems to cook the food more evenly and quickly than the George. Only complaint is that the non stick is starting to come off the bottom plate after only the second use. All in all prefer this to George but next time will probably consider Cuisinart or the Jamie Oliver Health Grill. I do feel annoyed that you cannot get replacement plates, which is really the only reason I have had to replace the grills, and to be honest if I could have got new plates for the George I would never have even considered going with another make so perhaps they are missing a trick there!
