almost goodbye 2 Mar 2006
By D.A.C
this was nearly going to be the last series of this amazingly popular show but unfortunately it wasnt. After this series the two leading actresses left. The following 4th series was awful though 5 and 6 redeemed themselves. This series though was excellent.the writing, acting and everything about it made this stand out from other shows and ensured that it was one of the highest rating shows on t.v.worth collecting series 1-3 on dvd if you are a fan or not.for trivia sake the show ran from 1993 - 1999.

Classic Comedy 5 April 2006
By A Customer
After originally watching this comedy i thought to myself this wasn't nothing special. But how wrong was I. Not only does it bring humour to Gary (Nicholas Lyndhurst) by combining his future knowledge to the past, but it also shows that with extra knowledge he was able to combine a normal life in 1996 to make himself seem important and knowledable in 1942.

Althought this isnt as classic as the first series it keeps on going and showing the heartaches and the ever changing lives of his two ladies.

I would reccommend you buy this if you are a big fan but if you are a first time buyer then seek the first series onwards otherwise you will find yourself wondering what is going on.

Tremendous Fun! 9 Sep 2006
By E. A. Redfearn TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Having watched the first three series, I must admit I am addicted to it. It is very very funny. A bored television repair man has found a time loop which allows him to live a double life, alternating between 1995 and 1941. The gags flow thick and fast as Gary Sparrow somehow manages to live a double life between two time zones. Of course, the actors Nicholas Lyndhurst as the Time Travellor Gary Sparrow, Dervla Kirwan as Phoebe landlady of the Royal Oak during the 1940s, Michelle Holmes as Yvonne Gary's hapless and long suffering wife, Victor McGuire as his friend Ron, and the wonderful Christopher Ettridge as the gormless Policeman Reg, do make the series. A tribute to the writers too, Gary Lawson, John Phelps, and of course the series creators Laurence Marks and Maurice Grain. The fabulous one liners carry the series through, there were times when I could not stop laughing. This series contains 11 episodes including the Christmas Special spread out over 2 DVDs. I am sure many viewers will have their own favourite episodes. Sadly, it was also the final series for Dervla Kirwan and Michelle Holmes who both moved on to pastures new, only to be replaced by two new actresses for the final three series. I have not seen Series 4 yet, so cannot comment at this stage. But for fans and viewers alike, they wont be disappointed with what this set has to offer. Extras include an interesting interview with Dervla Kirwan. Like I said, its tremendous fun.
