No lover of "The Waltons" TV series should be without this invaluable resource. Not only does it give synopses for each episode, with full story-lines, first air-dates and directors etc, but there is an intimate edge to all of the entries, by comments of actors' experiences and memories reflecting on individual programmes, which bring it all very much to life. There is a particularly interesting chapter on Earl Hamner's life, and photographs of his family members which were the background to all the characters, and his comments and musings on his novel "The Homecoming", which led to the pilot film of the same name. A very full, interesting, and I feel particularly rounded, reference book for Walton enthusiasts. I do feel that it has a "heart" to it. My only reservation, is that the book feels quite flimsy, and the paper quality is poor. It would be lovely to have a hard-back version on high quality paper, but a small gripe really on what is a thoroughly recommended book
