The series is a true masterpiece of hillarity. Showing several perspectives through the characters (most of which are played by four actors), from reverse discrimination (i.e. Brits being treated like a minority) to the typical stereotypes of people from Indian / Pakistani / Bangladeshi background, the show covers everything and may very well leave you hurting from the laughter (if you watch too many episodes at once).
From the classics such as 'Check please', to 'Skipinder, the Punjabi Kangaroo', 'The Bridegroom Detective', 'The Kapoors', 'Mahariji Yogi' to countless one off sketches, the show is sublime - if you can laugh at yourself, I suppose - as it hits out pretty much in all directions.
There are few references to outside cultural events that will age quickly, which is another bonus of the show - i.e. it does not necessarily require in depth knowledge of the late 90s Britain to be funny. Some stereotypes may well fade with time but to be honest, it is unlikely to lose its explosive punch any time soon.
So if you want to learn more about what all came from India, apart from superheroes such as Superman and the Latrine Boy, delve in - you will not regret it!
