Decent enough unit. Plays CD's and I-pod with ease. Remote works well for both functions. Radio is OK depending on if a signal can be picked up. Sound quality is good in my opinion and it can go as loud as most people would need before quality is compromised. If you are looking for a small reasonably priced system then this is ideal. My only fault would be that if you want to wall mount it then DIY skills are a must. The speakers aren't attached to the base unit itself. So in order to get it and the speakers wall mounted to make it look like its all one unit then the speakers have to be mounted seperately to the base which means that if one of the mounts is slightly out then it could make it look a bit odd on the wall (in the same way a picture that isn't straight would look). I did get mine right though with the help of a decent spirit level and tape measure.

Bought this earlier on today, it was easy to set up and the sound is pretty good, although obviously not fantastic as it's a small unit - there are 6 EQ presets which are okay although we found that you can hear a strange buzzing sound during the quiet parts of songs when it's on x-bass. Looks good, it's compact and can be mounted on the wall or be used on a flat surface. The speakers are not attached so can be moved around. Aerial for radio isn't great, we've yet to find a radio station with it (although we live in a poor reception area). Good value for money and worth buying if you just want a micro system to play cds and ipods on.

Superb sound quality when playing IPOD or CDs but the FM radio signal is quite poor and no matter where we position the aerial there is a slight crackle.

If you have bought one of these units... Good luck.
We have now had a second unit fail at 14 months old!! Both with exactly the same problem..
The only thing that will work is the radio.. As soon as you try and change the function to CD or IPod, the unit turns itself off..
And yes it just so happens that they are out of warranty..

Don't waste your money.. put it towards something of better quality..

This system did everything I wanted it to do for about 6 months. Then the remote began to die until finally giving up the ghost after 9 months! After 13 months it developed a fault where it would turn off whenever you pressed the function button to turn it from anything but the tuner. This means it is now just an expensive radio player. I looked up the fault on line and other customers have also complained off the exact same fault. When I rang Goodmans I was told that because I had had it for over a year then I would have to pay to have it repaired.
VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL AVOID GOODMANS PRODUCTS IN THE FUTURE!

Purchased this unit from a high street supermarket for my 11/12 year old children and returned it. Everything works but it is very low quality.

Positive points:

o Easy to setup - speakers plug in rather than using bare wire terminals.
o iPod dock locks very securely
o Wall-mountable

Negative points:

o The sound quality is particularly poor. I was not expecting audiophile quality from a budget system but it is muffled and indistinct with quite a bit of distortion at higher volumes.
o The sliding CD tray is very impractical - you have to open and close it to operate the iPod
o The volume control does not actually rotate, it's a very cheap switch based control i.e. it moves one click clockwise and anticlockwise. It may as well be volume up and down buttons instead.
o Basic set of features - no USB or SD card support

In summary, there are far better specified and better quality budget systems around for a lower price. I bought a Bush one which is far better.

Bought this for my 12 year old daughter. Quality when playing music from her iPod or CDs in her bedroom is brilliant. It looks good too! Fantastic value.

I took the trouble of writing to the sellers by email to ask questions about this particular item.
However since they do not have the common decency to reply, I shall spend my money elsewhere.
Suggest avoiding Electric Zone - they cannot be bothered to reply to customers - their loss.
