This may be a Pocket Digital Radio but the level of performance from the Goodmans GHDAB101 belies its size. With both a Digital Radio and FM tuner, 10 digital presets and a favourite stations feature, you can be sure of enjoying the benefits of radio wherever you may be. The white LCD display has black text and is also backlit for best clarity. Supplied with stereo earphones and powered by 2 x AAA batteries, the Goodmans GHDAB101 delivers up to 10 hours digital playback and there's a keylock for security.
got this from Argos in September and just taken it back because the display went blank. (radio still worked). That said the performance is impressive. I used it on the train (Guildford to Waterloo)and the reception was great. One major downside (besides being defective) was the battery consumption. If you buy one get rechargables. Overall I was well pleased until it gave up the ghost. Hopefully a one off.
I bought this 2 weeks ago and already regret it. Main gripes are:
1. Flimsy construction - the lugs in the battery cover snap off easily. 2. There is no way to lock the buttons when it is swtched off so when you get it out of your bag you discover it has been on all day and there is no battery juice left 3. Even when left switched off it eats batteries like a maniac 4. Reception is poor - it fades in and out on the train (my previous DAB radio had a good reception so I know it's not to do with coverage)
You get what you pay for so don't take this cheap option - I did and I wish I hadn't. I'm a martyr to me Northern roots.
I wanted this type of radio to listen to my favourite station Jazz FM on the move Unfortunately the set can not get the station - despite clear reception on my other DAB radios in the house The front of the radio looked marked & used However the makers say they have no more in stock If it was not a birthday present I would have sent back for a refund As it is I don't use it - still in the box
