With Freesat you can forget all about digital switchover in the UK and the need for re-tuning. Freesat is the joint venture between the BBC and ITV that provides free access to satellite broadcasts without a subscription. All you need is a satellite dish with a single LNB feed and with the Goodmans GFSAT200HD you have access to all Freesat TV and radio programmes, including TV in glorious HD, with nothing else to pay.
This model has an auto channel search, a 7 day programme guide, is BBC iPlayer ready with an ethernet port for broadband connection, digital text and audio description that tells you what is happening on the screen in the absence of dialogue. You can also access the interactive services via the red button. Using less than 1 Watt in standby this model is also Energy Saving Trust Recommended.

I am disappointed to see three adverse reviews of the Goodmans GFSAT200HD receiver. I bought mine 14 months ago in April 2009 and it has worked like a dream. I get loads of TV and Radio channels, and the two HD channels transmitted at the moment, BBC HD and ITV HD, are fine. There are also a few non-Freesat channels which it receives. It updates automatically when Freesat updates, and now I can also get BBC iPlayer Beta on it which has recently been added. All in all, I am well pleased with it. The only thing I sometimes wish is that it recorded, but hey - I should have bought a recorder if I wanted that! As far as resetting goes, I think I have only had to pull the plug out once in the 14 months, that was when I lost sound. It reset fine. But don't all of these electronic machines need resetting sometimes - my pc, modem, etc all need the occasional unplug! So I hope I have showed the positive side of the Goodmans GFSAT200HD. All is not bad!

I bought this box before reading the adverse comments above! A good job too, as I am very pleased with this little box.
OK, no HDMI lead (got one at the Pound Shop - guess how much!), and yes, its a bit slow on channel change. The reason I have only given 4 stars is that it consumes 14 watts in use, and on standby.
A little tip! I had used both HDMI sockets on my TV (one for the Disk player, one for the Virgin Box) - I tried using SCART lead, but poor quality, so bought another HDMI lead (as above), but then found you can get an HDMI 'splitter' which accepts two in and one out - result - Happiness!!

Goodmans GFSAT200HD Freesat HD Digital BoxThis product is very poor. The highlight was the easy-setup, but after this initial euphoria it was downhill from then on. The problems:
- No HDMI cable.
- The box locks up intermittently with no sound and no response.
- The response time for changing channels is very slow.
- The system occasionally updates its firmware with various associated issues, including freezing the system which requires a power-reset.
All-in-all I would not recommend this product to anyoGoodmans GFSAT200HD Freesat HD Digital Boxne.
