Review

"It's an honor to review the tenth edition of this classic text. The eighth edition helped me learn pharmacology 10 years ago, and ninth edition has helped me teach pharmacology in recent years." "Numerous tables help to classify and organize this massive body of knowledge." Journal of American Medical Association 20021024 "For 60 years (first published in 1941) Goodman & Gilman has been a widely used pharmacology text." "The tenth edition is a must-have book for faculty abd graduate students. It will challenge undergraduate students, but is recommended as a reference/text with which they should be familiar and comfortable using." American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education 20020423 " The tenth edition is a must-have book for faculty and graduate students. It will challenge undergraduate students, but is recommended as a reference/text with which they should be familiar and comfortable using." American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education 20020401 "There are other reference and textbook options for pharmacologic information, but Goodman & Gilman's The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics remains the gold standard for the most comnprehensive explanantions of clinical pharmacology. It is an invaluable reference and is highly recommended as a guide for all healthcare professionals." The Journal of Pharmacy Technology 20020301 "As the most comprehensive of all the pharmacology textbooks, this edition continues the excellent tradition of this icon in pharmacology. 5.0 out of 5 stars INDISPENSIBLE pharmacological/physiological reference, 11 July 1999
By A Customer
As a PhD student in physiology, I would rate this as one of the most indispensible books in my library. It is very detailed and very thorough, and is, in my opinion, an essential addition to any physiologist's library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent information source, a bit tough reading at times, 22 April 1998
By A Customer
Goodman & Gilman remains THE pharmacology textbook The introduction to each section gives a welcome overview of, and feel for what is important. Detailed reading is necessary for the serious student - missing a single line can give a false impression of the intended meaning. Thorough explanations with detailed graphics provide deep understanding where the reader desires. Difficult at times but worth the effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars The "BIBLE" of pharmacology still the best., 4 Mar 1998
By A Customer
Despite the fact that some of the wonderful, pithy, humanistic comments are missing that were in the first few editions, the new G&G is still the best! It warrents being on everyone's must- buy list.
