5.0 out of 5 stars a little good read 26 Jan 2014

this is a fascinating little book, published in 1973, about certain buildings in london that have been condemned for demolition. its a good historical little piece of what london was like then, and it would be intresting for the london reader to do some research, and find out what buildings went, and what buildings remained, 41 years on! there are plenty of black and white pictures of the london buildings in the book, the only drawback is that they are on the small side, so you really have to study them up quite close! you may even need a magnifying glass! but there are plenty of photos crammed on each page, and my enjoyment wasnt spoilt of the book anyway. on ebay this book is selling for 27 pounds so its a bargain on amazon for just a penny! a great little book that deserves a lot of recognition, londoners will enoy it, i did, or indeed anyone who loves london.

This book was very keenly researched, so now all we can do is hope that architects reproduce what we lost. There will never be the like of this again otherwise. This book, a hit in its day, knocked many out when it was first published years go. It is the best trip back in time that you could wish for.
