4.0 out of 5 stars Another good, neglected Art Brut release 12 Nov 2011

Art Brut had passed me by, too. Apart from a quirky Cure cover on a CD free with NME, I knew nothing about them. Then I went to a gig on their latest tour - part of a very small audience (swelled by family of the young support band called in as late replacements). Despite their disappointment at the turnout, Art Brut were brilliant, energetic, enthusiastic, funny, loud and faultless. I bought their latest two CDs at the venue, took them home and played them to death. I bought some old releases, including 'Good Weekend', on Amazon. Eddie Argos' lyrics in 'Good Weekend' are, as usual, witty but not cruel and the band's energy and skill are vibrant and enlivening. Buy it, and enjoy! [And then buy 'Brilliant! Tragic!']
