Agree with other reviews. This album smells of too little effort put into songwriting and too much fun being had on the road. It's a pity because when Reo shine on this album they are unbeatable. Good Trouble, The Key and the amazing I'll Follow You (With one my all time fave guitar solos) and stillness of the Night set the bar high. unfortunately Sweet time, girl with the Heart of gold etc.. just don't cut it.

The next album whilst being a multi seller continued the decline which culminated with the poor Life as we Know it. Cronin then lost his marbles, threw Richrath out of his own band and took Speedwagon down MOR Avenue.

Enjoy the last great Speedwagon album.

Following their huge and breakthrough hit, 'Hi Infidelity', Good Trouble efectively worked as a follow up for the legion of their new fans, mostly written on the mega tour that showcased its predecessor. The air of celebration is obvious, especially on the title track and their thank you song to their fans, 'Let's Be-Bop'. A couple of ballads apart, the pace hardly lets up and the lead guitar reaches new peaks (for example the introduction to 'Keep the fire burning'). However the lyrical wit of Hi Infidelity is mostly lost, with a few too many rock cliches instead.

Not the most original or REO's canon and I agree with the other reviewer, the lyrics can be a little 'uninspired'. At the time this album met with litle critical acclaim but despite that it remains my favourite REO album and I have them all. Put this in your CD player as you get ready for a night out and you'll be buzzing - melodic, high energy with some face-melting guitar work from Gary Rickrath. A gem!!
