I bought this album on the back of hearing the 'Good Times 4' Cd from the same stable and was equally impressed. From the funk-soul-tastic opening of 'Bourgie Bourgie' from Gladys Knight onwards this compilation takes you through a cool, funky journey to soundtrack summer partying. I'm not a huge follower of the genre so knew very little about a lot of the artists featured (mostly from the seventies) - but i now have a massive amount of respect for the Jay duo and their record collection - and more importantly their ability to pick such choice soul cuts and create a record with a real unique flavour. It's a quality album - one to bring out at those summer evening parties.

The man with the hat is certainly pretty dam cool and you cannot argue with his selection of tunes once more. Norman Jay's musical knowledge covers only the funkiest and most soulful sounds and you get a true flava here. Epic 10 minute classics and old skool grooves - what more do you want! The Flirtations "Nothing But A Heartache" will have you saying 'they don't make 'em like that anymore' everytime you hear it.
I want Norman Jay's record collection is all I have left to say.
