This can be quite a difficult CD to buy, but it is worth the effort as it contains some of best remastered tracks I have heard. As Amazon do not give a track listing I will supply one.
Roy Brown: Good Rockin' Tonight,Lollypop Mama,Mighty...,Miss Fanny...,Boogie at M...,Love Don't...,Cadillac Baby,Teenage...,Good Man...,Granpa Stole...,Mr. Hound...,Caldonia's....
Wynonie Harris: Wynonie's Blues,Playful Baby,Hey! Ba Ba...,Good Rockin' Tonight,Drinkin' Wine...,All She Wants To Do Is...,Good Morning J...,Rock Mr. B...,Mr. Blues Is Coming...,Bloodshot Eyes,Lovin' Machine,Confessin'...
Some tracks come out superbly but others are not so good. The reason is almost certainly the masters available, you cannot get a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Most of Roy Brown's early masters were destroyed by a factory fire. The company resposible for this CD is a french firm called magic-records, they specialise in remastering older recordings, a visit to their website is worthwhile but postage outside France is too expensive.Chris B.

HASH(0x9d5a1f18) out of 5 stars "The Original "Kings Of Rock & Roll" King-Sized KING Sides......" 6 Aug. 2010
By John H. McCarthy - Published on
Format: Audio CD
24 slabs of primal ooze that birthed rock 'n' roll, in terrific sound quality to boot! If you're a novice, this is a good place to start, if you're already an addicted fan, the answer is "YES! It's worth it!" but first, here's the CORRECT Track Listing:

1. Good Rockin' Tonight
2. Lolly Pop Mama
3. Mighty Mighty Man
4. Miss Fanny Brown Returns
5. Boogie At Midnight
6. Love Don't Love Nobody
7. Cadillac Baby
8. Teenage Jamboree
9. Good Man Blues
10. Grandpa Stole My Baby
11. Mr. Hound Dog's In Town
12. Caldonia's Wedding Day

13. Wynonie's Blues
14. Playful Baby
15 Hey! Bo-Ba-Re-Bop
16. Good Rockin' Tonight
17. Drinkin' Wine Spoo-Dee-o Dee
18. All She Wants To Do Is Rock
19. Good Morning Judge
20. Rock Mr. Blues
21. Mr. Blues Is Coming To Town
22. Bloodshot Eyes
23. Lovin' Machine
24. Confessin' The Blues

From France's terrific Magic Records, superbly remastered in 24-bit High definition within a nice digi-pak with a 12 page booklet in French & English. Sad to say, but once again our neighbors across the sea do right by what should rightly be two National Treasures. I'm sure if Elvis was still around this would be in constant rotation at Graceland. Rediscover the originators!

HASH(0x9d5cdc54) out of 5 stars Roy still sounded great near end of his life, despite lame band 21 Nov. 2007
By Mark Schlesinger - Published on
Format: Audio CD
One of the great blues shouters still had it, near the end of his career. (I don't know the year of this recording, I think Roy died in the 80's.)Good Rockin' lost a little of the old power, but he shows a good tender touch on "Love For Sale", a jazz standard. Band sounds either under-rehearsed or just lame, but Brown rises above them. A rare taste of one of the legends live in a small club. Is there any live Wynonie Harris, or Joe Turner (other than the CD with Basie and one 50's cut on the box set)?
