We own many books but this one is by far my 2 year old's favourite good night book since she was 15 months old. The illustrations are charming, full of lovely details, a real messy home right before bedtime, bandaid on the dinosaur etc.
The story is about a little girl who is ready to go to bed but has to find her six stuffed animals throughout the house. Zoe, Oscar, Jojo, Daisy, Max and Theo are at different parts of the house, "doing" different activities or at least the little girl imagines it so. She finds them one by one telling them to go to bed. When she finds her bear on the kitchen countertop for example she says: "Silly Max. Its not time to eat! Its time to go to bed. etc.
Each animal is at a new place "doing" something different. So its not time to play hide and seek, watch television and so on.
My little girl loves the repetitive sentences, knows all the stuffed friends' names and knows the book by heart. She absolutely loves this book. Simple, beautiful, meaningful, reassuring and she can relate to it.
You cannot go wrong with this book!!!
