Every song on this album is a testament to the masterful tunesmithery of the man who wrote many of Husker Du's classics. Since they disbanded Grant Hart has, in the public eye, taken a back seat to his one-time cohort Bob Mould's relative success. This is an unfortunate oversight which should have been rectified with the release of his Intolerance album. His latest Good News For Modern Man is his greatest work to date and will doubtless still remain unheard. However, those willing to give it a go will find an astounding album full of rich melodies and textures produced in a thickly uplifting style. Impossible to recommend highly enough - virtually every track is nigh on perfect. In an ideal world, there should have been a serious assault on the charts from this cd with its infectiously hypnotic and soaring choruses. buy.
