Amazon.co.uk Review

The Good Nanny Guide has become the definitive handbook for parents looking for the right person to take care of their child, and this revised edition of the classic guide not only gives a directory of over 100 nanny and au pair agencies, but takes a close look at the way in which selecting your nanny can have the best benefits for you and your child.

Authors Charlotte Breeze and Hilaire Gomer examine everything from the definitions of good childcare (which, of course, is entirely personal as different parents have different needs), how to decide whether to choose childminders and nurseries or nannies and au pairs, right through to how to deal with problems that having a nanny living in your home can throw up.

With practical advice on working agreements, agencies and training are balanced with a sensitive perspective on how to deal with your nanny on a day to day basis, and how to make sure that the most important issue of all--your child's safety--is confronted at the earliest stage in the process, The Good Nanny Guide is a superb handbook for parents who are trying to decide who will be responsible for the welfare of their child when they are not around. Anyone who is in the throes of sorting out their childcare issues should read this book first.--Susan Harrison

Product Description

In its fifth edition, this is the definitive reference to choosing, hiring, firing and keeping the best nanny or carer. It covers not only the traditional nanny, but childminders and day nurseries and aims to give parents comprehensive information about the business of employing someone to care for their child.

A very old book, and very old fashioned, after you read this book you will probably be put off the idea of even being a nanny!
i think it is because the book is so old and they should more up to date ones out there because nowadays working for people are not cruel like this and dont jsut leave you left out.
so if there are any nannies out there looking for guidance then dont take note of this book its not as bad as it sounds!
