I much prefer this to AOMM,

I read this off-and-on during Biology class last year, and I loved it. I thought the characters were much better than those from AOMM (much more realistic), and I found myself much more attached to them. They're the sort of girls who really exist-- the kind to go out dancing instead of doing homework. I think, in AOMM, Ms. Garden really tried to communicate how awful the treatment Liza and Annie recieved was, and she made them into these angels. I sort of found the Crucible relation a little insipid, though I guess it was necessary... My idea of heaven is a cold, snowy day, a dead phone line, and a pile of Nancy Garden books...

Having heard so much about Nancy Garden, I ran right to the library and got Annie On My Mind. The book was wonderful and very educational about the emotional aspects of a young lesbian partnership. So naturally, when I heard about Good Moon Rising, I went to the library to get that as well. I finished it in a period of three hours, never putting it down once. This has to be one of the most well-written, true-to-life, amazing books I have ever read. It comes straight from the heart and, at some points, made me cry. As a fifteen-year-old lesbian, I can't even begin to say how much I relate to this story. Many thank-yous to Nancy Garden for her fine writing. I would recommend this book to anyone, gay or straight, to remind them of the powers of homophobia and how it affects the people on the receiving end of it.

Wow! Ms Garden does it again. It has one thing in common with Annie On My Mind - Annie and Liza (AOMM) and Janna and Kerrie (Good moon Rising) both have there ups and downs of their relationship but unlike a lot of lesbian stories the relationships are still as strong as ever at the end of the books. Ms Garden has a good writing style and has good strong characters. If you liked AOMM then you'll love Good Moon Rising. Even if you've not read AOMM you'll still love Good Moon Rising.
