Simply wheel the Grass Edger along the edge of your lawn and the hardened steel blade trims the over-hanging grass as you go. The blade is self- sharpening and cuts to a depth of almost 11z2". The steel shaft measures 43" long to avoid black strain, also features moulded handgrips for extra comfort, and a durable powder-coated finish. For years I've struggled to maintain a neat edge between my patio and lawn, having tried every technique I could think of without success. This tool has completely solved the problem, creating an immaculate edge in very little time!
Insert the circular blade between paving and grass (using the footrest for extra pressure if required) until the sidewheel hits the paving. Then simply push the tool downwards and forwards and the blade cuts neatly between paving and grass whilst the sidewheel runs along the hard surface. The circular blade is cleverly convex, automatically exerting a little sideways pressure against the paving to ensure a perfectly straight edge with no chance of straying off line.
Now let's get one thing clear, this device is specifically designed for edging lawns which join a hard surface such as a patio or path. It's definitely NOT intended for use on lawns with a soft edge such as a flower border. This is perhaps not abundantly clear from the advertising `'blurb'' but the clue is in the photo.

Strongly endorse Robert Carter's review of the Lawn Edger. I too have lots of lawn edge which abuts paving stones, either pathways or patio. So far I have only used the Lawn Edger once and I must say that it made quick work of my edges, much better and quicker than trying to use a strimmer. However if your lawn shares its edges with flower bed or vegetable plot, forget the Lawn Edger - it would be absolutely useless at such a task.

as I am getting on a few years I found this very hard to use its ok for someone with a bit of strength as it just kept getting stuck when it came to a tuft of grass and I found it a bit hard going not a very good buy in my case

Useful little tool.
Works well and leaves lawn edges looking very neat. Seems to be well made and simple to put together. Certainly saves time in edging up the lawn. A good buy.
