Great product, friends who see it want one, so I order for them. The back is a little difficult to get off, you need a very small screwdriver, like a watchmaker's tool, and a 9v battery, it will go off for cats , birds, depends on how you install it, get to know it, and what it does, near a fish pond for instance it will tell you if a heron is nearby looking for a meal, or if someone is about to pinch your Koi, many uses. Get one now.

This product detects objects (larger animals, cars, people) passing its sensor, transmits the signal to the indoor unit and the indoor unit does indeed make you aware of the situation.
But:
-- -- The sensor sends at least two alert signals to the indoor unit. It should keep its mouth shut for maybe 30 seconds afterwards, maybe even a minute! It is essentially quite a 'dumb' sensor.
-- -- The indoor sensor has a piercingly loud, unchangeable shrieking tone composed of an 'up' and a 'down' tone which sound THREE TIMES. Essentially six tones. And then bear in mind the sensor alerts the indoor unit at least twice per pedestrian. So that's already 12 tones. Minimum.
VERY VERY VERY ANNOYING.
And this is already my second unit. My first one failed. My second has a defect whereby the LED is always on a little bit.
I am getting frustrated just describing this product...
But:

For the price these items are fantastic once the correct location was found it covers both the front door and the driveway we now feel we have more privacy. The only thing I would say that could improve it would be the colour we ended up painting the outside unit to get it to blend with its surroundings.
