Having bought this book years ago I found this an excellent book to work through. I tried the xmas cake recipe for the first time last xmas and it turned out perfect. All the instructions are clear, and they do not go wrong. So for perfect cooking, give this a go, I promise you will not regret it.Thanks to Good Housekeeping, my cooking has improved tremendously, it turns out perfect every time.

This is the best cookbook I've ever had. I can't say bought as it was delivered to my house, addressed to an ex-tenant.
I've had this book 15 years and I still use it regularly. Almost everything in the book is easy to make with ingredients that are easily available from most supermarkets around the world. Instructions are straightforward with colour pictures along the way in case you're not sure. The colour index at the front of the book is a brilliant way for getting ideas for the next meal and I wish more cookbooks had this. Oh, and the paper is slightly waxed so you can wipe spills off it. Very important. If you had to own 1 western style cookbook, it should be this one.

I have had the book for years and my young neighbour borrowed it. The only way to get it back was to get her one !!. It arrived within a few days for 1p + postage.
