These contain enchanting stories about growing up in a bustling city in Africa in the midst of a huge, happy African family. Each book is made up of 4 stories of little Anna hibiscus that are not only humorous (they made me laugh out loud), but also contain messages of hope and love. Although she grows up in Africa, Anna Hibiscus is a little girl like all any other across the globe and so these stories will appeal to all children. Suitable for ages 7-11.

Good Luck, Anna Hibiscus! (Walker Racing Reads)

My 6 year old daughter absolutely loved this book and I confess that I do too. The stories and characters are charming, quirky, delightful and ever so real. Beautiful writing with lovely pictures to accompany.

Anna Hibiscus lives in Africa. Amazing Africa.' So begins this book, and the other three Anna Hibiscus lives with her African father and Canadian mother and her baby brothers and many other relatives in a large African city. In this book her adventures include getting ready to travel, on her own, to spend Christmas with 'Grandma Canada'. I bought all four books for my four year old granddaughter. She loves them and roars with laughter at Anna Hibiscus's adventures. It's a wonderful series, and they are some of the best books I have ever bought her.
