Very fast delivery from Amazon even on super saver delivery - this arrived two days after I ordered. The stoner is very easy to use and has a light but sturdy feel. It doesnt take too much pressure to use and can be easily squeezed with one hand. The shield is removable and can be stored where the cherry is placed and it locks shut so that it takes up less room in the kitchen drawer. I almost bought one of the very cheap stoners, but saw that this one was recommended by another reviewer, and its certainly worth the extra money.

My Dad said they do the job and he has used them to get pips out of all sorts of fruit.

This gadget does a very good job of stoning cherries, and is easy to clean.

However I bought it to stone olives for pizza but it can't cope with medium and small olives. The cup which holds the fruit, through which the stone is pushed, is 13mm in diameter, so olives smaller than this fall through. To ensure the olive is held whilst the stone is forced through, the olive must be slightly wider than 13mm, and the stone smaller. There is a 25mm space for the fruit, so the olive shouldn't be longer than 25mm. The result is that you are going to have to look quite carefully for olives which fit this device.

The problem could be solved if Good Grips supplied a choice of cups for different sized fruit, or they could correct the description. As it stands it doesn't work with medium and small olives, therefore I'm giving it two stars.

The pitter is great - the one we had before made the kitchen look like a slaughterhouse as there was no way to contain the cherry juice as we stoned the cherries. This one is much better. BUT we had to wait ages for it - to the extent that I'd gone and bought one locally by the time it arrived, as the cherries we had picked were starting to go mouldy....

This is most definately one of the best purchases for a baker who is interested in making a cherry pie. Last year when I baked the said pies, it took me more than an hour to remove the pits from the cherries with the help of a knife. This time around 1 was able to remove the cherry pits from over 1 litre of cherries in less than twenty minutes. The OXO cherry pitter is really nice to handle and easy to use.

This pitter works well with cherries of medium to large size. Unfortunately it will not cope with large olives as it does not have enough force to push stone through body of olive. Have not tried with small medium olives but perhaps other reviews will give you information. It is well built and easy to clean and store.

This is the second one I've bought, the first I let my friend have, she liked it so much! An excellent gadget, it performs well. I still got juice stained fingers & splatters on my clothes & worktop, but it is cleaner to use than the ones without guards. I'd recommend it to other people.
