5.0 out of 5 stars Essential 27 Feb 2013
By Elliot Essman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
No one plans to die, but when faced with death, our own or that of the people we love, it pays to have the best level of ammunition we can have. Gail Rubin's book is a thorough arsenal of that ammunition. End of life planning is important. This book is an important tool in that regard. Every family should have one or several copies, and read them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very glad I read this.... 22 Jan 2013
By BR - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I was very glad I had read this book before a close family member died. The information provided took much of the mystery and trauma out of the experience of putting together an appropriate memorial service and dealing with all the details that have to be taken care of when a family member dies, especially one who intended to live forever and therefore had not done any pre-planning. It gave me the confidence to make the decisions that needed to be made promptly, as well as "permission" to make the services fit the individual yet still be appropriate. I highly recommend this book to everyone, whether doing end-of-life planning for yourself or for others (who may or may not be willing to read the book themselves). It is actually a very easy read, even enjoyable, despite the difficult subject. Very well done.
5.0 out of 5 stars I Wish I Had This Book When... 17 Feb 2012
By Allen Klein - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
My wife died after a three-year terminal illness. We had lots of time to think about the funeral. But we never did until the fatal day, which we all knew was coming, came. How I wish we had this book at that time. It would have made a very confusing time, less confusing and easier on all of us. I have never seen a book like this, which not only covers everything you need to know about funeral planning, yet does so with a light touch and an easy-to-digest format. I highly recommend you get several copies of this book...one for yourself and copies for your loved ones too.
