I didn't buy this ball from Amazon, but saw it as I was browsing through toys for my dog and was surprised there were no more reviews for it. This toy has withstood my 3 1/2 yr old cocker spaniels attentions for well over a year and is still operating and functional and, more importantly, giving him fun! Basically, the ball is hollow and has an adjustable hole in which you can put whatever treats you think your dog will go for- dry ones though or they won't fall out and it could be tricky to wash! By making the aperture smaller or larger you can adjust the difficulty rating of the toy. We started out with it quite wide until Alfie got the idea and then gradually have reduced the size so he has to really work for it. The dog can sniff the treats inside the ball and has to roll the ball around either with his nose or his paws. When it rolls with the aperture facing downwards, a treat is dispensed. The dents in the surface mean the dog can pick it up, but has to learn the treats don't come out unless it is rolled This ball keeps Alfie occupied for ages, and if its a particularly wet day or we cant get out for a walk as usual, or if I have to go out and leave him, the puzzle ball comes out with his breakfast kibble in it! Alfie is very good at chewing all kinds of things and he doesn't like rubber toys so it can be tricky to find toys that are fun and durable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

My baby blue staff 10 weeks old did not take long to work out where the treats were coming from. He loves it and it is good excersise for him and relieves boredom leaving him with it for short spells.

A great interactive toy for your dog. Fill the ball up with kibble (probably best from their daily food allowance) or some treats, set the opening on the toy to either a quarter (hard mode) or a half (easier mode) and give it to your dog to play with.

I only put a handful of kibble in the first time I used this and it kept my 7 month old pup quiet for over 15 minutes as she rolled it around the kitchen trying to get all the food treats out of it - she managed to get every one, but she is a Labrador so I should have expected that if food was involved!

The toy I received was a dark blue plastic rather than the bright red shown in the picture but that didn't really matter - especially not to the dog!

When you first open the toy there is a very strong smell of plastic but that does fade after a couple of days in the open air and it didn't deter my dog from playing with it.

This is definitely one of those 'got to get' toys if you don't already have one for your dog.

The ball keeps my dog entertained, however, the lid is very flimsy and she chewed it off within a matter of seconds. I just use big treats now as they do not fall out as easy.

We have an 11 month old Staff Cross and he managed to squash this and chew it to bits in under 10 minutes so I wouldn't recommend it for dogs that like to chew.

Buster has had a toy previous to this one that lasted him SIX years from being a puppy. Going by the image, I bought him this one because it looked exactly the same, even if you zoom in there was no difference. I was so disappointed with what came. First of all, it was an entirely different colour scheme and seemed about 20% smaller. This I was prepared to overlook. Unfortunately, and I did time it, within ONE minute, the ball was dented. Within five it was totally ruined. Buster is a Labrador and is not an aggressive or chewy dog, but he easily crushed the plastic. I think even he was upset, considering that his first one was still going. Feedback for improvement? Make the plastic tougher and thicker, his first one is covered in bite marks but never split open, and I consider that dangerous and not fit for purpose. Get a stronger opening mechanism and not just loosely glue that in but melt it into the other plastic as that just popped out, thirdly, increase the size, Buster can only about carry his first one in his mouth but with it being bigger he can't chew down on it. I really hate writing a poor review but this upset me by being such a waste of money.

This product went from packaging to bin in less than half an hour! My 10-month old border collie flattened it with one paw and then proceeded to chew a hole through it. Nowhere near robust enough.

I brought this for my puppy that was a tiny 1.5kg at the time. She easily chewed off a big bit of plastic in the swivel opening and nearly choked. Would not recommend to anyone
