Book Description

This is the first book in the Parallel Trilogy.

What if everything you knew was suddenly gone?

Sixteen-year-old Morgan Campbell runs away from home and when she returns the next day her world is turned upside-down. Not only is her family missing, but another family is living in her house and claims to have lived there for weeks.

As Morgan desperately works to figure out what has happened, she finds society has become obsessed with weight in a way she has never seen before. The more she searches for answers, the more she begins to wonder if she has somehow ended up in another world--a world where it is illegal to be overweight.

Can she survive in this world until she can get home?

Gone does not contain any profanity or sexual content.

BONUS: Includes the first 3 chapters of Imprisoned (Parallel Trilogy, Book 2).

5.0 out of 5 stars mindbendingly wonderful 16 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I Loved this book. written in a gripping style and impossible to put down. A parallel world of bigotry which is disturbingly believable as the future for society with the current obsession with appearance and possessions while neglecting the soul and our humanity. Reminded me of charlie brookers Black Mirror in its dystopian outlook. An absolute classic!!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too obvious 28 May 2014
By Rh
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good idea but couldn't finish the book. Skipped ahead to the last chapter and there were absolutely no surprises. It's ok written but aimed at 10-15 year olds with zero appeal for many people much older. The main character was too close to a real teen with no heroism glamour. Better books out there by a mile. Even for free reads

2.0 out of 5 stars don't bother. 15 Jun. 2014

Written by a teenager. The basic idea behind the book is good, but the narration is rather like that that you would get from a fifth-former in a girl's school.

1.0 out of 5 stars A book of fantasy 4 Nov. 2013

If you like children's fantasy then this book is for you. I am afraid I only read a few chapters, and got bored with the story.

1.0 out of 5 stars really poor and disappointing 27 Jan. 2015
By Diana
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the first book in the series but it does not come to a natural end for the first part. It just stops dead forcing one to get the next book to find out what happens. It is in my opinion poorly written and I only read to the end because I hate to not finish books, needles to say I will not be buying the next book and wasting time reading it!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Dull 10 Dec. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
At first I thought the atmosphere of the book that made me feel depressed, then I realised it was the writing of the book that made me depressed. The characters are all extremely generic, and everything always goes just like you predict it to. And then you find the books ends on a cliffhanger, an incomplete story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Speechless! 18 Feb. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really love this book. It kept me gripped and the book ends with a cliff hanger which makes me want to purchase the second book. I highly recommend this book as it will keep you reading until the end. I love the plot because it is slightly different too.
