Product Description

Harlan Coben was voted winner of the Bestseller Dagger at the 2009 Crime Writers' Association's Crime Thriller awards .

On October 17, 11 years ago, Julie Miller was found brutally strangled in the basement of her house in the township of Livingston, New Jersey. On that day, Will's brother, Ken Klein, became the subject of an international manhunt accused of the crime. He has not been seen since.

Will has tried to get on with his life in the intervening years. He has a beautiful new girlfriend, Sheila, and a job working with the homeless. But when his mother reveals on her deathbed that Ken is still alive, and shortly afterwards Sheila disappears, the cracks start to show in his landscape again. But it is only when he finds that Sheila herself is wanted for a savage double-murder that his life actually starts to fall apart...

A real page turner 17 Feb 2003
By N. Brett TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
The lead character's brother has vanished for some years accused of a murder that the family do not believe he committed. Now the brother seems to be back just as someone else disappears..
My brief introduction does not do justice to this top notch thriller. You know that there will be twists as this is the nature of these types of books, but the reader is kept on their toes by a story that really does keep you guessing.
Well written and with good characterisation this really is very good. Highly recommended if you like this kind of thing.

Many books hook me and thus get me turning those pages till the early hours in anticipation. Many books have complex and enjoyable twists, turns and surprises. Not so many books are so well crafted and use the language, dialogue, characters and scenes to such a compelling and higher level as Harlan Coben does in this book. I don't want to give anything away about the plot, just to say it is mind-blowing.

I could exhaust my vocabulary of superlatives to use in this review.

This is the most BRILLIANT book I have read this year.

This is the first Harlan Coben book I have read and I was very impressed. The plot is fast moving and twists and turns like a roller-coaster. The characters are engaging and entertaining (if a little unbelievable) and the book even manages some humour with some great one-liners.
Thoroughly recommended!

Impressive but to ideal to be realistic
I must admit that I enjoy this book but it didn't impress me as much as his first book, PLAY DEAD. Things are happening too fast in this story, too fast to be real. Read more

doesn't add up
It's very similar to his previous book "Tell No One" and many of the characters are virtually identical to the characters in all his other books. Read more

Remarkable!
This is the third Harlan Coben book I have read and the hundredth in this genre, so I have to say that I usually enjoy books of this style regardless. Read more

Compelling reading until the end
The title of this review is a twist on maybe what you might expect in that it was a rivetting read, but fell away towards the end. Read more

Want You Back For Good
Harlan Coben is an author obsessed with the past and `Gone for Good' is no different as once again he writes about a character whose past comes back to haunt them. Read more

Compulsive Reading
Not normally my sort of book but it was recommended by a friend of mine so I decided to give it a go. Excellent, gripping stuff - couldn't put it down!

Unconvincing
There are too many twists and turns in this novel making the story totally unconvincing. Disappointing.

Best Harlan Coben book I've read
As always, Harlan Coben weaves a fantastically thrilling story full of twists and turns. Some of the twists were obvious - you can see them coming from a mile off. Read more
