Ive been waiting for this album for a while, and to my surprise it hasn't let me down. The songwriting on this album is witty and compelling, while the musicianship is top tier. Not to mention contributions from Mark Lanegan and Joseph Arthur. I hope to see them live soon.

Being a huge Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, Gutter Twins, Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan fan, knowing the associations My Jerusalem has with these acts, I was unreasonably excited about this debut especially after the incredible sampler available in My Jerusalem's not-so-easily located EP Without Feathers. While two of my favorite tracks on the album come from the EP (Sweet Chariot, Remember Everything) , the remaining previously unheard tracks are more than i ever imagined. Jeff Klein's at times intimate swoon, at others raging scream, lacks no bit of emotion but seems to always be beautifully harnessed. Though maybe a little cliche at times, the songwriting is most likely the highlight. Other great tracks include, "Proposition" and "Sleepwalking". Pick it up if you like any of the above listed bands or want something new that's not electronic or whatever today's "popular" music is.
