Product Description

'Lethal Weapon' stable-mates Joe Pesci and Danny Glover star as two buddies out on a fishing holiday in Florida, dreaming of catching the elusive 'big one'. However, when the guys' car is stolen they find themselves caught up in a search for stolen jewels with two glamorous ladies.

From Amazon.co.uk

The disastrous Gone Fishin' has been called "the Ishtar of the 90s", but that's giving it too much credit. Danny Glover and Joe Pesci (who could have used their Lethal Weapon series buddy Mel Gibson in here) star as slow-witted friends who take their dream fishing vacation in the Florida Everglades and end up having a series of disasters. Trouble is, director Christopher Cain can't get a handle on any of the comedy essentials for a project such as this. The result is a badly timed, badly toned, unfunny movie wasting a lot of great talent across the board. --Tom Keogh

If you are amused fairly eaisily, like fishing and really want to see something funny I strongly recomend this.
Personally, i have never been fishing, nevertheless I was almost in tears it was so funny. Two neighbours who are best friends, take their usuall fishing holiday to the Everglades to enter a compitition a week before thanksgiving. From the word go, its a disaster and one leads onto another. Their friendship is almost heart warming and their ignorance to their surroundings is unbelievable. After loosing their car, crashing a boat and causing havoc while still managing to burning down a hotel they still seem to be uneffected and have high hopes of winning the compition. Then they manage to get them selves roped into a huge hunt for for these riches. Its such a fun film especially for the family......Anyway, you really have to watch this film despite the other review given.
Unbelievable!!!!!10/10

Gone Fishin' [DVD]
Seeing Joe and Danny glover together again after seeing all the 'lethal weapons' it IS a 'tried and tested partnership'.The plot is GREAT,the difference being that BOTH of these guys seem to lose or destroy ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they touch, whereas in the lethal weapons Mertock loses his boat/house ect,
disaster follows these two guys-even on a simple fishing trip, the consequences are HYSTERICAL!!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

This film is really lame. I felt sorry for Joe Pesci acting in such a daft role but I suppose he got paid for it. It can't have done his credibility much good though, no wonder no one I know has has ever heard of the film.
I know it's a film by Disney so he couldn't do his usual but come on Joe!!
I'll have to sit and watch Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Casino back to back now just to try and forget.
