Product Description

Synopsis

Flexibility exercises are one of the most underutilized yet profoundly effective fitness activities available to golfers for both their long game and their short game. Increased flexibility not only increases power and control - it reduces the potential for injury. Presented in an easy-to-follow format, the Golf Flex programme is simple and can be done at the office, on the course, or at home and requires only 10 minutes a day. Special sections include: first aid and simple rehabilitation for injuries, how to keep your rotator cuffs in good health, and head-to-toe stretch sequences for before and after a game of golf.

4.0 out of 5 stars 10 mins!! 24 Sep 2006
Format:Paperback
Really, really works BUT forget the 8/10 mins per day. On average approx 15 mins BUT its time well spent. Ive spent my whole life saying"I cant touch my toes because I have short hamstrings".....well I was wrong!! They just needed stretching regularly!!. Buy it but allow 15 mins + per day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent workout 10 Feb 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Excercises and theory are sound. Routine takes longer than 10 minutes. If you do it regularly you WILL feel the benefit. I suspect the title could be 'anysport'flex though. It has improved my flexibility and contibuted to a percieved improvement in my golf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lower your handicap and enjoy the game more 20 Aug 2000
By Chris Raftery - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
At 49 years old and lately suffering more of the pains of my college sports injuries, by following the stretching exercises in this book not only is my golf game better (handicap is dropping from 14 fast); but I feel much better in general. I had a rotator cuff injury from baseball that would not go away despite visiting the orthopedic surgeon and doing all the prescribed exercizes. If you follow the stretches in this book it will fix you up. Virtually all the soreness in my sholder has disappeared and I'm hitting the ball much better. Smoother swing too! Not only for golf, you'll feel better in general. The exercizes are easy, not time consuming and make an immediate positive difference. I highly recommend it. This book belongs next to Ben Hogan's "Five Lessons".

5.0 out of 5 stars Get This Book And Start Using It Now! 7 Oct 2002
By N P Bayley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
If you want to hit the golf ball further (and who doesn't!) you need to do flexibility exercises on a regular basis, every body knows that, right? But what exercises should you do? Well, this Golf Flex book details the exact exercises you should do and shows you (with clear pictures) along with simple and clear instructions how you should do each stretch to get the best results for your golf game.
I've started using this program and I'm already hitting the ball longer as well as feeling better physically and mentally. I highly recommend that any golfer who want's to make golf easier and more fun get this book and start using it. This book will not do anything for you unless you follow the advice but if you do, watch out - your golf shots will travel further and your golf swings will be easier.
I did have a few questions about this book so I emailed Paul and was almost shocked to not only get a response back but the responses to my questions were detailed and well thought out.
Get this book today and as soon as you get it start doing the program because the older you get the less flexible you will become UNLESS you do some regular stretching program!

5.0 out of 5 stars The road less traveled 15 Feb 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Here is an interesting route to finding the benefits of Golf Flex. I bought this book several years ago because of my back and shoulder pain kept me from playing golf. I thought it to be overly simple, quite honestly didn't think much of it. Played around with it for a few days then let it collect dust. Recently I spent 2 weeks in a health resort. Every morning we performed either tai chi or something know as the Five Tibetans. Very soothing movement with stretching. After two weeks my back pain was gone and my shoulder felt much better. After coming back home I decided that I would try golf again. I picked up Golf Flex again and it was then it dawned on me that the stretches and the movement were quite similar to what I was doing at the health resort. I've continued with the Golf Flex stretch everyday, not only for pre game stretching, but its the first thing I do in the morning. I've added some other movements that I learned in tai chi and the Five Tibetians. This takes me 10 to 15 minutes per day. My back feels great and I'm back on the course. I don't know if the author was familar with these eastern methods or if this is where east meets west. I highly recommend this book. Do not underestimate it because of it simple layout. There is a big reward for those follow this routine.

5.0 out of 5 stars See ya back pain, hello fair-way! 1 April 2000
By Josie Libel - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
My Grandfather was a pro and took me golfing with him when I was a young boy. As I got older, I discovered the wonderful world of bodybuilding. Although it has provided me with wonderful health and aesthetic benefits, it also caused muscle tightness and joint pains. Where I use to have a very easy time rotating my torso during the cocking action of the club, I soon began to see an extremely limited range of motion in my back, shoulder and various leg muscles. I desperately needed to stretch the sport specific muscles of my body, in order to play a good game and feel loose enough to relax while playing. This is the beauty of Mr. Paul Frediani's book, Golf Flex! When I first saw the book, I was very intrigued simply by the design and qulity of the book. I was weary though, as they say, Don't judge a book by its cover. This also applies in a negative fashion. I was shocked when I began reading! It not only provided much more than the cover promised, but also gave me a sure-fire plan to wipe my competition out! I soon began to follow Paul's stretching and conditioning program and immedietely noticed unbeleivable results. Not only did my game begin to improve by leaps and bounds, but I felt AMAZING! I am grateful for the book and highly recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in bettering their body and decreasing their score. NO MORE HANDICAP HERE BABY!

4.0 out of 5 stars It Works! 8 May 2002
By Jon Klein - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Well unless you've been living in a cave in Borneo, you know the importance of stretching, not only golf but for better everyday living. The author writes an easy to follow precription on how to best prepare for pre-game warm-up. As a former athlete I had no problem following the Golf Flex routine. But my wife(a new golfer and not an athlete)had difficulty understanding the difference between static and dynamic stretching, how and why they apply to sports performance. Teaching your wife golf is a little like teaching someone you love to drive- its best left to professionals. So I bought the Golf Flex video to give her. It was much more through, and seeing someone do the stretches, showed her exactly what she needed to do. So if your new to stretching, I highly recomend the Golf Flex video. If you have a basic understanding of flexibility, then the book is all you'll need. Well done!
