Book Description

Mar 1999
An analysis of basic swing faults and their cures by one of the world's leading golf teachers. Jacobs stresses that an understanding of the basic laws of impact is the key to a sound game. He also includes a chapter on how to avoid wasting strokes. In a series of 25 detailed lessons Jacobs covers the full range of shots, carefully relating the plane and angle of the clubhead at impact to the flight of the ball. The book concludes with a section which shows the golfer how to deal with a range of typical on-course situations.

4.0 out of 5 stars John Jacobs-The Golf Doctor 10 Aug 2010
By Me
This is the first time I have purchased a "second hand" book, however, it arrived in a clean-good condition and it was a title I have used many times from my local library, but decided to have my own copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Golf Doctor 14 July 2012

I had a copy of this book years ago and regret giving it away. Delighted to have got another copy. I play of 12 and have bought dozens of golf improvement book and DVDs. This book may be old but it beats the lot. Goes through each fault and explains corrective action. A must for all levels of golfer.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little dated now 30 Mar 2012
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
There's no doubting Jacobs' legacy but I think in terms of swing books things have moved on.

Ultimately we can access so much instruction via video now that books like this aren't as useful as they once were. I still love Hogan's book but that's sentiment more than anything else.

I almost feel guilty not giving John Jacobs five stars and would still recommend it if you can pick it up very cheaply but really you're better looking elsewhere and to video if you're after easy solutions for your golf swing problems.
