This is an excellent idea for a book but I felt that some of the photographs - for what is after all a coffee table book despite the format - were not as good as they could have been (eg: Turnberry). The principle however is good - l page photo then a little bit of general background without too much irrelevant blurb. The largest emphasis is, of course, on USA courses but at least he does give the rest of the world a fair crack, and whilst there is an emphasis on the 'usual suspects' some lesser known courses are spotlighted - Notts County in England and Furnas Golf Course in the Azores are good examples.

Can't Go Wrong 21 Jun. 2005
By Kindle Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This book was recommended as a Father's Day gift in a magazine and being that my Dad LOVES golf, I thought it was a sure thing. It ended up being way more than that. The book is beautiful! Don't tell anyone but it is way underpriced. It looks like a $50 coffee table book. My mom thought I had paid $80 to $100 for it. My Dad loves it so much that he displayed it on top of tv in the living room. He was giddy to find many courses in the book that he had played. The only downside I could see was that my Dad may find numerous golf courses around the world that he now feels he has to go and play.

Spectacular! 27 Dec. 2005
By Cindy M. - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Actually, I am not a golfer. But I purchased this book as a Christmas present for my aunt and uncle who are recreational golfers. And spectacular is the word they both used to describe it. The photographs are beautiful and there is a short description of each place that is photographed. My aunt particularly liked that the descriptions were short. She said it was just enough information about each place. And now, maybe, they are planning to visit some of these places and play a round...

Prizes well received 5 Nov. 2006
By Wendy Clift - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I purchased Golf of the World: 365 Days as prizes for our recent Ladies Open Day not only did they look fabulous on the trophy table they were the most sort after prizes on the day! The ladies who won them were delighted and have since contacted me telling me of the enjoyment they have given them (with photos to die for and destinations to dream about!) In all cases they are taking pride of place on their coffee tables with the added bonus of being able to visit a beautiful course whenever they wish at the mere flip of a page.

This book is gorgeous and the pictures of the courses are breathtakingly beautiful. When I gave this book to my boyfriend's parents I got to see his Dad smile for the first time! Great coffee table book :)

Beautiful Coffee Table Golf Book 11 Sept. 2009
By Boethius - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This book is really for golf fanatics. I'm sure non-golfers can appreciate it, but if you don't enjoy golf then you probably won't enjoy that book. That being said, if you are reading this review there is a great chance that you enjoy golf. Some people might think it crazy to have a book that's comprised of pictures of golf courses, but if you've ever stepped foot on a good course you can appreciate the beauty in all of these pictures. On top of that, each full page picture (about 5x7) comes with a short description of the golf course, along with some history and some cool facts. I keep this book out on my coffee table and my golfer friends always leaf through it when they are over.
