This is a sequel to the traditional Goldilocks fairytale. The little bear from the original tale has grown up, it doesn't say but I'd estimate around 20 years has passed from the original burglary tale. Basically the bear isn't paying attention one day after strolling through the woods and realises he's in the middle of a strange place (New York to us humans), which he doesn't exactly like too much with all the noise, bright lights, cars and all. He flees into a high rise apartment building and stumbles into the lift. Somehow (you'd think they'd have better security in New York the doors open into an apartment. There he decides to rest and eat some porridge. The brilliance of this book isn't that it doesn't just go through the motions of copying what the blood trespasser did years ago. The bear is still a rather simple minded bear, he doesn't know what porridge actually is and his first attempt is too soggy (a fish bowl filled with water and fish, second choice too crunchy and the third better than nothing. Likewise his choice of chairs to sit down includes a cat which is too scratchy. Of course like the original you can't just trespass in someone's house and not expect them to turn up.
