5.0 out of 5 stars Unique and Entertaining 6 May 2013
Format:Audio CD
I think people are too harsh on this soundtrack. I actually think it's really good, different from the previous entries, but its industrial sound is so unique and cool and the same time. It blends well with a new Bond for the 90's.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but not classic Bond 27 Nov 2009

As a collectible from the Bond series, this is ok, but to be honest the music works better within the movie than on an audio CD, and is not what you could call 'listenable to'. John Barry, you were sorely missed on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst Bond score ever 19 Feb 2011
Format:Audio CD
Eric Serra's score for "Goldeneye" has the dubious honour of being the worst Bond score of all time. A haphazard mishmash of tecnho, electronica and pac man video game sounds it truly dishonours the great Bond music legacy invented by the late great John Barry.

Apparently when Bond producers Barbara Brocolli and Michael J Wilson viewed the Tank chase scene just before the release of the film they were horrified the music was so off the mark they immediately hired arranger John Altman to completely re-score the scene using the classic Bond theme and a more classic Barry-esq feel to the music in general to amplify the tension. The Bond films score's are some of the most classic film soundtracks of all time but i couldn't recommend this one, even as a curio.

The one saving grace is the excellent theme song by Tina Turner which has the distinction of being the only modern (Goldeneye onwards) Bond theme good enough to rival any of the classics from the 60's and 70's.

Great theme - Poor score
