This appears at first sight a radical concept. However when one looks at the biological facts behind urine, its use as an alternative therapy seems less crazy. The fact that many pharmaceuticals and medical treatments don't always work or have awful side affects, combined with their expense, make cheap or free alternative treatment such as this very attractive and essential if there are no alternatives available.
This book contains large number historical references of usage and recommendations, many different practical uses as well as many personal testimonials. There are a few recommendations and examples of usage from recent scientific/medical practitioners from the 20th century, however I would have liked to have seen more results of scientific studies from the 20th/21st centuries, this would have added more weight to the book. The concept of a healing crisis was very interesting. As I said there is a large number of examples of historical uses, recommendations and testimonials which are interesting, but unfortunately these mean little without evidence of more modern scientific proof. If people are to try these techniques they obviously need a lot of scientific assurance, given their contentious nature.
I have given the book 4 stars, as I think it does contain useful information and Van Der Kroon is very passionate and knowledgeable about this subject, however I would have liked more scientific studies and I found some of the photos make the book seem dated.
